TipTip jQuery Plugin
The TipTip jQuery plugin is a creation by Drew Wilson that detects the edges of browser window and makes sure that the tooltip stays in current window size. It allows to adjust itself to be displayed on any place of the element, be it above, below, left, or right. It is a custom tooltip that, according to Wilson, behaves exactly like the browser tooltip. It uses the title attribute but it will be copied and removed from the element so that the browser tooltip will not be seen.
It is lightweight, uses no images, highly customizable using CSS and only 3.5kb. This plugin is open source and had some minor changes via its updates. The current version has additional features that include fading, delays, trigger effects like hover, click, etc. It generates one set of popup elements total and helps speed up the processing time.
